Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal announced a series of proposals aimed at overhauling the criminal justice system. According to the Governor, the proposals are designed “to help troubled youth, reduce recidivism and improve drug rehabilitation programs, while also lowering costs by reducing incarceration numbers.” The bill proposed by Sen. Greg Tarver creates “pre-delinquency intervention” programs known as Families in need of Services (FINS). Read more…
