I was struck by the intersection of two stories. In one, the admittedly alarmist, Joesph Farah of World Net Daily brings back the memories of Barack Obama’s campaign wish to “…have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded (as the military).”
See the speech here. At the time the speech was so disturbing that Obama’s people have had the transcripts of the speech scrubbed, and the subject was never brought up again. In Farah’s article he wonders if the massive purchases of weapons and bullets that the Department of Homeland security have been undertaking in the past year are a prelude to this private civilian army. This may sound like a stretch but then low and behold I saw this article where Jesse Jackson pleads with president Obama to have DHS patrol the streets of Chicago. Stay tuned and stay informed.
